Senate President: Obasanjo, Tinubu, El-rufai Lead Cabal Behind Saraki’s Trials

With the ongoing trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, over 13 count-charge bordering on alleged false assets declaration, 50 Senators held an emergency meeting to unmask the cabal working behind the scenes to nail Saraki.

The Senators of the 8th Assembly while throwing their weight behind Saraki in the face of his ordeal, had revealed that the cabal surrounding the President is responsible for Saraki’s dilemma and they will use all within their powers to bring down the Cabal.

“We have resolved to use all available powers under the constitution to ensure that no cabal exists and run the government on behalf of Buhari, and we have also resolved to deal decisively with the cabal,” Deputy Senate Leader Na’Allah said at the time.
Post Nigeria’s investigations revealed that the cabal vowed to instigate various crises in the 8th Senate to Sabotage the Senate leadership. It is most worthy of note that the defacto leader of the Party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had sworn not to recognize Saraki as the Senate President.

Barely a month after Saraki’s emergence the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, invited his wife Toyin Saraki, on July 23, for questioning for undisclosed reasons, but reports claim she is being probed in relation to several contracts executed by companies said to be linked to her while her husband held sway as Kwara Governor.

In reaction, senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West described the incident as a sheer witch-hunt.
“Though, we do not want to make any hasty conclusion, we are surprised that about five years after the Sarakis left Government House, Ilorin, the EFCC suddenly realized the need to invite the wife.
“We hope this is not part of the plot we have heard about, aimed at wrestling the Senate President down with different tactics,” Melaye said.

The rhetoric question in the minds of Nigerians is who are pulling the strings from behind?

Since Saraki’s emergence, for ridiculous reasons the President has avoided contact with the Senate President. Various efforts made by Saraki to meet with him have proved abortive, with both men never spotted in public together since July 4, during the Ramadan period.

On June 26 Buhari decided to stop participating in Juma’a prayers at the National Mosque, Abuja with Presidential spokesman Femi Adesina claiming this was down to the President wanting to curb traffic at the mosque amidst crowd control concerns, however, a source close to the Presidency insisted that “avoiding Saraki is the main reason, the crowd talk was the cover up”.

“President Buhari did so out of consideration for avoidable hardships imposed on members of the public by road closures and other security measures which Presidential movements to the National Mosque necessitate” his spokesman had said while announcing the decision.
Saraki’s late father, Olusola Saraki, prosecuted Buhari in 1978 and indicted him on corruption charges when he was the Minister of Petroleum under Obasanjo’s military administration.

The son has also brought in an “unholy” alliance with the defeated Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to Buhari’s government, a move that has incredibly irked the retired General to the point where relations cannot be savaged, and one has to leave office.
The President has since denied any involvement with the ongoing trial.

“This therefore is purely a judicial process and has nothing to do with the Presidency.”
However, when the leadership crisis started in the APC, Buhari, well known for his “body language” distanced himself from the happenings, while openly denouncing Saraki with some moves him and his office made in the media.

Olusegun Obasanjo

Nigeria’s former President from May 1999-2007 had Nasir el-Rufai serve as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, under him, and is believed to have the Kaduna Governor’s undisputed loyalty.

He has remained actively controversial on the political scene as a godfather “who means well for Nigeria,” and he played an active role in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before resigning from the party. He has strongly supported the APC policies while claiming to be “partyless.”

Our source revealed that Obasanjo invoked the CCT document of false declaration in his possession, against Saraki and may have presented the document to Buhari during his last visit to the Villa, to be used as weapon to weaken the senate President.

the ex-leader has recently found himself to be more useful to the President, after Buhari on August 21, named him as his Special Envoy to mediate and help find a solution to the crisis brewing in Guinea Bissau.

Bola Tinubu

The former Lagos State Governor and the Leader of the APC is bent on working against the Team B PDP members of the APC, evidenced from his reactions to the emergence of the leadership of the 8th Senate that went against his wishes and he consequently vowed not to recognize Saraki as Senate President.

According to our source, Tinubu has sworn to bring down the political careers of the “Team B PDP, members in the APC” for daring to defying his choice of leadership for the senate.

Nasir El-Rufai

It was widely believed that the former President was considering blessing el-Rufai as his successor. Since the end of the Obasanjo administration, el-Rufai has been on call, defending Obasanjo’s policies while in office, and was very instrumental to the removal of the Jonathan-led PDP government.
The Prosecutor in the Saraki case Rotimi Jacobs, after Saraki had pleaded not guilty to all the allegations read out, revealed that one of the houses in question was sold to the Senate President by El-Rufai, suggesting that the governor is the brain behind this latest onslaught on the senate president, as he was minister at the time the prosecutor claims the said assets were acquired.

el-Rufai’s grouse may not be unconnected to the fact that the Saraki leadership of the senate, has made a known enemy of his, Sen. Shehu Sani from the same state, stronger and a thorn in his flesh.

Also, it is believed that the governor has his eyes on the Presidency, in 2019. Saraki staying on as senate president till that time, will see him become more relevant and influential at national level, and diminishing any chance el-Rufai will have at the seat.

Rotimi Amaechi

The former Rivers State Governor, before he decamped was privy to certain dealings in the PDP, and was a close confidant of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Our source claims that the embattled ex-governor had been running from pillar to post, seeking help against his successor and antagonist Nyesom Wike.

It is believed that Amaechi approached the national leader of the APC, asking for help to bring Wike down, and the experienced Tinubu, asked him to divulge whatever he had that could bring Saraki down, in exchange for protection from Wike, and an outright vilification and submersion of the PDP government in the State.

Amaechi is believed to have since agreed to the plan, and looks set to play his role

Paedophilia Buhari’s Foreign Trip Fumbles May Be Hurting Nigeria’s Economy

Since assumption of office on May 29, 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari, has spent most times perambulating in a triangular movement between Abuja, Daura and abroad

While his travels have mostly been unremarkable, his trips abroad on the other hand have presented a different picture- they have recorded and become predictable for missteps, misspeaks and damage controls. Rather than accomplish the tasks of burnishing Nigeria’s sagging international image, his international forays have put the country to ridicule, disrepute and discredit. Buhari has managed to characterize Nigeria to the international community as a country of bumbling idiots and thieves, thus engendering lack of confidence in our polity.

Buhari portrayed Nigerians as bumbling idiots for electing an intellectually handicapped octogenarian as President, when after taking part in the 25th assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Johannesburg, barely one month in office, said to Nigerians resident in South Africa, “I wish I became Head of State when I was a governor, just a few years as a young man. Now at 72, there is a limit to what I can do.”
This unflattering image of Nigeria was further perpetuated, when on his trip to the G7 meeting in Germany, wrongly referred to the chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, as “President Michelle” of “West Germany”.
Following his ill-conceived official visit to the US, reports linked to a member of Buhari’s delegation, and the presidency, broke out that the US Government has handed a list which contained the specific names of the Nigerian oil thieves to Buhari. Although this turned out to be bogus, as refuted by the US government, the damage was already done; the false news dominated the media space, eclipsing any positive accomplishments of the visit. It was also during this trip that he in response to a question, on how he intended to deal with issues in the Niger Delta, particularly Amnesty, bunkering and inclusive development, president Buhari said; “…constituencies that gave me 97% cannot in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%…”
President Buhari also got the international community scratching its head when during an interview with French television station in France, in response to questions regarding his delay in constituting his executive cabinet, denigrated the globally coveted ministerial roles, saying they are only there to “make a lot of noises.”

At the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting Buhari and his team are again in the news, but again for the wrong reasons.

President Buhari and his UNGA team were conspicuously absent at an event organized on the sidelines of the UNGA to explore aid to millions of people displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency across the Lake Chad Basin area. As reported, the U.N. aid Chief, Stephen O’Brien could not hide his disappointment saying that Nigeria, where most people have been displaced by Boko Haram attacks, did not send anyone to the United Nations event. Other international reactions to this blunder came from the U.S. and European Union diplomats who expressed dismay at Nigeria’s absence at the event.
As is in most cases of Buhari’s Snafus, his spin doctors, who have become as much or even more recognizable as he, due to their nonstop wall-to-wall reconstructive spin operations, have proffered predictable laughable explanations for this major blunder. Lost on these spin doctors, is the counsel of a US president, Abraham Lincoln, who said it is “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

Mr. Femi Adesina, a media aide of the president, in a lackluster effort to justify the lack of presence of not even one of their 22 member delegation at the crucial Boko Haram meeting said “Yesterday’s meeting was a sideline meeting…Not that it was not important…But we were in a more important meeting…The UNGA has several sideline meetings and there is no way a country can attend all the meetings.” Excuse me? We thought Boko Haram was on Buhari’s priority list? For a bunch that disclaimed its campaign document, it is confusing to know what to believe and which direction they are taking the country.
In an equally concerning and discordant note, but consistent with the cluelessness of this administration, another member of the 22 man UNGA delegation, Dr. Kayode Fayemi said “we were not even aware of the side meeting. Boko Haram has been in the forefront of the president’s engagement since we came.”

Even more embarrassing at this UN outing, was that Buhari was prevented by UN security operatives from meeting Pope Francis due to late arrival for the event where he and other leaders were to meet the Pope. President Buhari came while other presidents and heads of government had already lined up to shake hands with the Pope, and he was not allowed to join in.
This incompetent government has resorted to spin as substitute for good governance. Unfortunately, spin has little relevance to, but may in fact be exacerbating or masking the lack of confidence in our polity, by local and international financial institutions.
Recently, the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor and Chairman of the Monetary Policy Committee, Mr. Godwin Emefiele raised an alarm about the Nigerian economy, when he said, “…the overall macro-economic environment remained fragile. The economy further slowed in the second quarter of the year, making it the second consecutive quarterly less-than-expected performance. The committee noted that growth had come under severe strains arising from declining private and public expenditures.”

In another development significantly impacting our economy, The United States-based lender, JP Morgan, recently said Nigeria will be phased out of its Government Bond Index (GBI) by the end of September due to alleged lack of liquidity and transparency in the nation’s foreign exchange market.

If Buhari and his so called “top notch” appointments, working along the much vaunted civil servants continue to fumble, it may not be too soon to call in the “Noisemakers”.

He spoke on a Kaduna-Based LIBERTY RADIO PROGRAMME,by accusing the GoodLuck Jonathan's administration for Killing and destroying houses belonging to Bokoharam members,while the Niger-Delta militants get special treatment. In his Statement I quote" ATTACK ON BOKO HARAM IS ATTACK ON THE NORTH ".

In one of the first interviews of Muhammadu which was conducted by BBC'S PETER OKWOCHE ,  Buhari was asked what tactics his administration will use to tackle Boko Haram; "PEACEFUL NEGOTIATIONS OR HITTING THEM HARD" in which BUHARU ANGRILY ASKED "HITTING THEM WITH WHAT? On that note, the Commissioner of Police Of Borno State ADEREMI OPADOKUN,told the Nigeria NEWS AGENCY that the Suicide Bomber was shouting "SAI BUHARI, danced close to an Abattoir in the Market(Kasuwan Shanu Market,in Borno State Capital Of Maduguri) before detonating the Bomb strapped to his body when people gathered around him. It was reported that, Fifty (50) persons were killed and several injured. Muhammadu. Buhari made another comment via a statement released on Thursday. June 18, 20015 as part of his Ramadan message to Muslim Citizens. In his statement he said, "LET ME USE THIS AUSPICIOUS OCCASION TO APPEAL TO MY MUSLIM BROTHERS TO DROP THEIR ARMS". It was an embarrassing moment for Nigeria as the government of the country was missing at an event centered around Nigeria’s Islamist insurgent group, Boko Haram, at the on-going United Nations 70th General Assembly holding in New York, USA.

The session, titled, Lake Chad Basin at A Cross Road: Addressing Urgent Humanitarian Needs in An Overlooked Crisis, held on Friday, September 25, 2015 and a high level government representative of the Nigerian Government was expected to be at the event which was organised by the United Nations Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) and chaired by Stephen O’Brien, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations.

“The mission of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is to mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian action in partnership with national and international actors,” according to its website.

President Muhammadu Buhari is in New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly withterrorism and global security top on his agenda.

Reuters reports that, “U.S. and European Union diplomats said they were disappointed that Nigeria did not attend the event chaired by O’Brien on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly”.

Nigeria’s neighbours, Chad, Niger and Cameroon  were represented at this event.

According to a Nigerian participant, Bukky Shonibare, other participants at the event expressed surprise that the Nigerian government, which is the major victim of the Boko Haram war would choose to absent itself from an event where crucial talks on the humanitarian crisis left behind by the murderous activities of the Islamist terrorist group is to be held.

Bukky Shonibare, who is the group chief executive officer  of The 555 Group, took to her Twitter page to express her embarrassment at the no-show by the Nigerian government. “Embarrassed hearing participants express disappointment that Nigerian govt wasn’t present @ ds BH-centred event,” she tweeted.

Boko Haram terrorist’s gunmen attack DSS office killed 4

An unspecified number of suspected Boko Haram insurgents on Friday night attacked the Lokoja, Kogi State headquarters of the Department of State Security Services (DSS).

The insurgents, according to a reliable source, attacked the facility, close to a number of government offices, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Customs and NIPOST headquarters, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) office and the Federal High Court, the Kogi State House of Assembly complex, around 9pm.

The attack was, however, repelled by the combined efforts of the DSS operatives and soldiers from the nearby military formation in the area, at the end of which three of the suspected insurgents were killed, while unconfirmed reports had it that two others were arrested.

A mobile police man also lost his life.

It was gathered that the heavily armed Boko Haram members engaged the security operatives in fierce exchange of fire power lasting several hours.
A source told our correspondent that officers from the nearby Zone 8 police barracks were sighted evacuating their families even while the gun duel lasted.

It was gathered that the combined efforts of a police team and the army later overpowered the insurgents who fled into the surrounding bushes, while some escaped through the Meme River.

The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, who confirmed the incident said detectives have been deployed to the area, and were on the trail of the fleeing terrorists.

“The gunmen numbering about 40 at about 10pm (Friday) launched attack on the DSS headquarters at Hassan Katsina Road, Lokoja.

“Before the attack they shot and hijacked one heavy duty trailer to block the road. At the end of the day, three of them were killed, while the rest fled”, the CP was quoted as saying.

Our correspondent who visited the Kogi State Police Command headquarters around 9am yesterday met the place near desolate.

One of the three policemen seen around the premises said that the CP just left the premises, along with a (police) cameraman.

He said that they took pictures of “some bodies” which they later took away in a vehicle.
